…. human jaw bone from Chintsa, SA

Mr. Sean Price alerted the museum to the discovery of a jaw bone and other post cranial material discovered in the dunes close to Buccaneers Backpackers, Chintsa. An on site investigation today revealed that the material (found in July 2011) was spread on a steeply sloping northward facing, well vegetated dune face. Comparing the specimen (now in the museum collection) with other material it has been determined to be that of a child. Further investigations will be undertaken to shed more light on this find.
