Cape Fur Seal

This young Cape Fur Seal (Arctocephalus pusillus pusillus) hauled out at Bonza Bay, East London (SA) on Sunday 3rd July 2011. It was exhausted from high and heavy seas and remained on the beach until the following morning, departing we believe northwards. This is the only endemic seal species along the SA coast and breeds on islands west of East London.
