Forest Survey: Amathole Mountains

This is a good time of the year to note the pale fresh green leaves of the White-stinkwood trees (Celtis africana)  in the forests of the Amathole mountains. It is easy to count the individual trees on a mountain slope to determine the density of this species in the forest. See the pics below (taken on Sunday 3/09/2011).
