Caracal update …..

Museum colleague, Paulus Janse, has just completed a sculpture which will provide definition to the mount of the treated caracal skin donated to the museum last year.

Illustrated below is a delicate three dimensional work of art which requires insights into animal musculature and behaviour particular to the species. A pose is chosen and the true beauty of this predator needs to be reflected in the way it positions itself in the natural environment.
