Nahoon Estuary Nature Reserve

The Nahoon Estuary Nature Reserve, situated in the heart of the city of East London, boasts a good opportunity to do some birding …. and to see Africa’s smallest antelope species. Below are a few pics after a short outing to this reserve situated on the east bank of the Nahoon River.

Yellow Weaver – these birds nest close to the Nahoon River and in this instance in a reed bed

 A special treat and a delight is to see the resident blue duiker – the photograph below captured the animal feeding on fresh grass shoots before disappearing into the forest fringe.
