Rare slug found …. Khologa Forest (Stutterheim, SA)

A recent outing to explore the Khologa forests near Stutterheim (SA) revealed the presence of a rarely seen slug. This invertebrate was noted under some leaf litter close to a mature yellowwood tree. After pouring some water over the creature it happily retreated back into hiding.

Prof. Dai Herbert of the Natal Museum commented that it may be Chlamydephorus sexangulus. More on these slugs later ….. .
