Injured fur seal rescued from Chintsa West (East London)

Penny Dickerson and Tanya Hannan are thanked for reporting and rescuing a young seal that was injured in the area on the 8th December 2013. The seal had wounds on both the belly and left flank. It was difficult to determine the exact cause of the injury when a first visit was made to the EL Aquarium where the animal is being cared for.

Tim Freshwater (picture below) of the Aquarium is tending to the seal and it is hoped a full recovery will be reported in the coming months.
