A second Long-beaked common dolphin found at Kayser’s Beach

Sadly, it was reported today that a second newborn Long-beaked common dolphin had beached. Also a male, it measured 95 cm, and showed no visible signs of injury or trauma. the specimen was reported to museum scientist Kevin Cole by Siviwe Kweza, a coastal ranger with Buffalo City Metro Municipality. The specimen was collected from Kayser’s Beach (west of East London) and will be frozen at the aquarium until collected by the museum tomorrow.
